About the Artist: Najee DorseySouthern splendor comes to mind when thinking about the artwork of Najee Dorsey, a native of Arkansas who now lives in Atlanta. At 34, Najee shares his southern roots through colorful themes of heritage, a strong work ethic, motherhood, loving couples, music scenes and political commentary using a bright, vivid palette. Over the past 15 years, Najee has produced a body of work that has grown in substance and style, capturing the lifestyle of the Mississippi Delta. His pieces have been collected throughout the country and exhibited throughout the South; in Chicago; New York, and California. Najee is now in position to be recognized on
the national art scene. Najee has received numerous honors
throughout his career, including the 2006 Patrons Purchase Award from
the Polk Museum of Art. Through Nicole Gallery, his talent is now
recognized throughout Chicago. |
